The Journey

The Terry Buffington Foundation is an American anthropology organization founded to promote the study of anthropology and social activism, and bring light to southern and black experiences during the Civil Rights Movement. Our mission is to promote the culture and contributions of African American history, through community building events and collaborative efforts from all walks of life. We are branching out across the Pacific Northwest, and bringing this knowledge and experience with us.

Buffington Papers

In 2021 Terry Buffington digitized and donated the Terry Buffington Papers 1952-2014 Civil Rights digital collection to the Wilsons Special Collections Library at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The collection contains approximately 750 items (2.5 feet of linear shelf space)
