Terry Buffington Papers and Oral Histories Available Online

The finding aid (collection guide) to Terry Buffington’s papers and recorded oral histories is now published and available through the University of North Carolina’s libraries. This collection includes tapes and transcripts of SNCC affiliates, materials documenting life and work in Clay County, Miss., 1950s-1970s, materials from Buffington’s late husband, John Buffington, and a scrapbook highlighting the Oxford-Afro Cultural Center, 1981-1983, with which Terry Buffington was heavily involved. Also included are photographs, printed materials, LPs, films, and a commemorative poster of a SNCC organizational chart. You can stream the audio oral histories today and visit the collection here.
